Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is probably my family's favorite recipe of mine. Funny thing...a gallon milk disappears instantly before my cookies have a chance to cool.
2 cupss shortening
2 cupss sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar (loose)
4 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
4 cups sifted flour
1 large bag chocolate chips
1 teaspoon warm water
Beat together:the shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and salt.
Fold into mixture the flour, chocolate chips and water.
Bake on greased cookie sheets at 375°for 12-15 minutes
